Identify the effect on the graph of replacing f(x) by f(x) + k, k f(x), f(kx), and f(x + k) for specific values of k (both positive and negative); find the value of k given the graphs. Experiment with cases and illustrate an explanation of the effects on the graph using technology. Include recognizing even and odd functions from their graphs and algebraic expressions for them.
Objective: Students will be able to demonstrate their graphing function skills by practicing analyzing the key details of graph transformations to graph a function with 90% accuracy without plotting.
Do Now: Students will complete #1-4 of Part I of the review packet.
Class Assignments: Students will need to complete problems #5 - 20 of Part I. Then students will need to watch a video
Student will need to turn in their assignment by 9PM on Monday in Google Classroom.
