A.SSE.3.b
Complete the square in a quadratic expression to reveal the maximum or minimum value of the function it defines.
A.REI.4.a
Use the method of completing the square to transform any quadratic equation in x into an equation of the form (x - p)2 = q that has the same solutions. Derive the quadratic formula from this form
Objective:
Students will enhance their equation solving skills using completing the square methods by learning how to solve quadratic equations using completing the square with leading coefficient different from 1.
Instructions:
1. Do Now: Please complete page 1 by following the instruction for each step.
II. Class Activity: After finishing the Do Now. Please watch the video below. Students need to take note from the video as necessary.
III. Class work/Exit Ticket: Please complete the last page of the Monday/Tuesday Packet Worksheet.

HSA-REI.B.4a
Use the method of completing the square to transform any quadratic equation in x into an equation of the form (x – p)2 = q that has the same solutions. Derive the quadratic formula from this form.
Objective: Students will be able to demonstrate their skills in solving quadratic equations by linking back to their lessons about taking square roots last semester.
Do Now: Students Fill in the blank with the correct term to make it a perfect square trinomial
Lesson: Students will watch a video, they will need to take note if necessary. Then, students will complete page 4 for Wednesday.
Classwork/Assignment: Students need to take pictures of their completed assignments and turn into google classroom by 9pm for credits. The answers will be posted there.
